To ensure public and consumer protection by promoting preventive measures against unsanitary conditions, educating food handlers, establishments, private and government premises, commercial and international maritime vessels, animal quarantine facilities, pet shops, pharmacies and business establishments for cosmetics, medical devices, chemical products, food manufacturing plants, swimming pools, and radiological facilities; confiscating and disposing of violative food products; witnessing of disinterments for
proper procedures; conducting workshops for health certificate applicants to be employed in health regulated activities; reviewing plans and specifications for construction and/or renovation of health regulated establishments; reviewing and approving the importation of food and other consumer products; by controlling dogs and cats; regulating smoking within public places of employment to protect consumers from risk associated with second hand smoke; and, through the enforcement of all environmental health regulations.
