The Division of Senior Citizens is designated as the State Agency for Guam. As the State Agency on Aging, it administers all Title III programs under the older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, through December 31, 1992, through its approved state plan.
All service programs are provided to the elderly via contracts with private profit and nonprofit organizations. The Division of Senior Citizens has responsibilities for planning, organization, evaluation and administration of grants. In addition, as a result of Public Law 19-54, the Adult Protective Services unit provides for the protection and advocacy of vulnerable elderly and disabled adults in our community.
